Utoo Radio - April 24, 2024 - Three weeks after Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) announced a financial audit of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN), more information is being released.

The ISC told paNOW that they will conduct a forensic audit and that they knew the FSIN notice letter had been circulated on social media.

“We expect the audit to cover expenditures related to all funding from April 1st, 2019, to March 15, 2024, but reserve the right to adjust the period of review based on the audit findings,” the statement stated.

ISC has given the FSIN $141,096,331.90 since 2019.

Due to the sensitivity of complaints and forensic audits, the Department does not share detailed findings or recommendations and will not do so now. We will release a summary of the audit findings afterward.”

No audit completion date has been announced.

FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron has not commented.
